This will be an action packed One Day Adventure to the Home of
Rwanda’s Gorillas- Volcanoes NP. You
will leave your Hotel in Kigali by 5am and embark on a 2hr Drive to the Park
arriving just in Time for Check in and Park De Brief. Assigned a Gorilla Family
to Track for the Day and a complimentary Hot cup of Coffee, You will embark
into the Jungles of the Oldest Park in Africa in search of these elusive Gentle
Giants. Your track will be an exciting journey along forested slopes, entwined
vines, bushes and bamboo before you eventually reach the gorillas’ current
location. Your guide will point out signs of previous gorilla activity,
including dung, nests and chewed bamboo shoots. Once the gorillas have been
located, you will be allowed a maximum of one hour with them. Coming
face-to-face with a mountain gorilla is a humbling and emotional experience.
This is a fantastic and privileged opportunity to get up close and personal
with Rwanda’s own ‘Gorillas in the Mist’.
Note: Ritz safaris purchases the permits in advance but is
unable to reserve a specific gorilla group as it is for the Park Authorities to
decide this!
Your Guide will pick you up early in the morning from your Hotel in
Kigali and by 5am proceed to drive to Volcanoes NP in Northern Rwanda. The
Drive takes about 2hrs and you will make it in Time for the Park De Brief after
which you will be assigned a Group and Gorilla family to Trekk for the Day
after which you will be driven to your starting Point and enter into the Jungle
in search of the elusive Gentle Giants. The Trekk takes between 2-6 hours
depending on where the Family is feeding from for the Day. You will there after
Drive back to Kigali , check in at your Hotel to freshen up before heading to
the Airport for your Flight back Home .Gorilla Trekking by far is still every
Traveller’s Dream Experience and caps off what must always be an amazing
African-Rwandan Adventure .
